SAINT LUCIA (October 21, 2015) – Saint Lucia’s envious position as one of the most sought after vacation destinations in the Caribbean has been further reinforced.
The latest reasons for jubilation come with the just released Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards for 2015 in the grouping of ‘Top 40 Resorts in the Caribbean.’
Based on the views and opinions of thousands of ordinary travelers, not only has Simply Beautiful Saint Lucia captured the Number 1 position with the Soufriere-base Jade Mountain resort, but five other acclaimed Saint Lucian resorts scattered around the island are named in the impressive list of ‘Top 40’ as having wooed and captivated the most discerning of guests.
The illustrious list includes Ladera Resort at Number 4, Sugar Beach at Number 5, Cap Maison at Number 21, the Body Holiday at Number 22 and Anse Chastanet resort at Number 30.
Tourism Minister Lorne Theophilus congratulates the stellar resorts and extends kudos to the hoteliers and by extension the thousands of industry workers, who according to him, “Continue to ensure that destination Saint Lucia and its diverse offerings delivers over and over through their hard work, dedication and commitment.”
Demand for the destination remains strong as Saint Lucia nabs the #18 position among all islands of the world, based on consumer choice. This recognition by Conde Naste readers re-affirms the effective marketing for the destination and product and service delivery on island.
Remaining as the preferred vacation destination of choice for many, Saint Lucia recorded 263, 195 stay-over arrivals in the first nine months of 2015, compared to the 255,010 recorded in 2014; an 3.2% increase.
