MARIGOT BAY, SAINT LUCIA– The Capella Marina at Marigot Bay, Saint Lucia presents the sweet sounds of music and the Caribbean spirit with the 2014 Jazz on the Bay Festival. To coincide with Saint Lucia’s 23rd Annual Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival, visitors and locals alike will celebrate the rich music history of Saint Lucia, dance, spa specials, poetry, arts and crafts and also savor some of the island’s best dishes at the Capella Marina. Unlike previous years, the free festival will be held over two days, kicking off on Friday, May 2nd from noon to 10:00 pm and Saturday, May 3rd from noon to 10:00 pm, featuring more than 20 musical performances.
“Jazz on the Bay has been an institution since it debuted in 2012 and we decided to add another day of festivities and music because it is our mission to raise the ladder and make each year’s Festival better by including new and upcoming local artists, Caribbean inspired cuisine and celebrated chefs, while relaxing in a perfect setting at the Marina and by the waters edge,” remarked General Manager, Jeroen Quint.
Local award-winning talent such as headliner Barbara Cadet, will grace the stage and feature jazzy rhythms along with Claudia Edward, Black Antz, Nation of Kings, Harmonites Steel Orchestra and Inner Urge on May 2nd. Starting and closing festivities on the afternoon of May 3rd is principal performer Derek Yarde Project (DYP) showcasing Caribbean vibes followed by Superman HD, The Invader, Raw Elements, ASAP, FOCUS and Secret Solo Bands.
There will also be performances by The Marigot Development Committee, Stars Inc Dance Group, Moko Fliz Entertainment Stilt Walkers, St. Josephs Convent Steel Orchestra, Headphunk-Poetry, Toxic National Carnival Band and Just 4 Fun Carnival Band.
