CELEBRATE SAINT LUCIA’S ICONIC PITON MOUNTAINS WITH #SAINTLUCIAROCKS PROMOTION
SAINT LUCIA (September 2, 2014) – The Saint Lucia Tourist Board today launched its most recent social media campaign, #saintluciarocks, promoting the island’s iconic twin peaks – the Piton Mountains. The promotion, which runs through December 31, 2014, showcases Saint Lucia’s varied landscape through the use of Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.
Visitors who tag #saintluciarocks when sharing photos of themselves “Touching the Top” of the Pitons will enter to win a variety of prizes, including a trip to Saint Lucia. Photo vantage points can be found in Soufriere and Tet Paul.
“Like the National Flag and the Saint Lucia Parrot, the Pitons are etched into the social fabric of our nation,” noted Director of Tourism Louis Lewis.
Designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, the iconic twin peaks are synonymous with Saint Lucian identity. “What better call to action can there be than to have all citizens and our many visitors alike who are greeted by their stunning beauty upon entry to our shores, to symbolically reach out and attempt to ‘Touch the Top’ of the Pitons,” exclaimed Lewis.
Digital and print marketing, public relations, and direct-to-consumer outreach via the island’s hospitality industry support the campaign.
